Tom "Dr. Cue" Rossman Trick Shot DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY: 3.2 CONFIDENCE FACTOR: 6 minutes, 24 seconds, per day for 3 days SETUP/POSITION: Place 6-8 ounce glass or cup on #1 rail top.
The front edge of cup or glass should be at point where back of cushion cloth meets the wood and centered over 1st diamond from TL. A coin (dime) is placed on cushion top at 1/4" from point and centered with cup or glass. Cue ball is 1 diamond segment out from head cushion and centered on table. BALL(S) POCKETED/OBJECTIVE: : Using good fundamental grip and bridge, shoot cue ball to aim point (a), which is exactly center of coin position. Coin will flip up and in the cup or glass. This shot takes a finesse stroke and precision. ADJUSTMENT ANALYSIS: If coin does not flip properly, you should re-position it closer to point if it shoots straight up in air, and doesn't go back to holder. If the coin flips into side of holder, adjust back of point. Speed is extremely critical on different tables, so adjust for the condition by shooting harder or softer; actually that is faster or slower, as we are talking finesse and not force. Have fun! If coin goes sideways, adjust aim right or left of coin center as needed. |
