Faces
of the APA:
Milestone Member
The American Poolplayers Association has reached
a milestone—200,000
members! We wanted to celebrate this accomplishment by rewarding the
200,000th member, as well as the person who recruited the new member,
with a prize
package featuring gifts from a variety of companies with whom we have
a business relationship.
We are happy to announce that the 200,000th member processed in our
database is Bonnie Miller from Cedar Springs, Mich. The APA member who
encouraged
Bonnie to join is Team Captain Larry Pelton. They each play on a Monday
night 8-Ball team out of Gun Tavern in Cedar Springs.
Bonnie and Larry will share a prize package
worth over $2,500, including gifts from Connoissier of Custom Cues,
Consumer Contact Company, CueSight
Technologies, CueStix International, Dead Stroke Designs, EZ Bridge,
Falcon Cues, Frank’s Center, Jacoby Custom Cues, K.C. Innovations, Khamsin
Design, Mueller Recreational Products, Palmer Cues, Run Out Sportswear,
Stealth Cues & Fabric, The Cue Tender Company, Tom’s Q-Stix of
Madsen’s, Viking Cue Mfg., Inc., and the Women’s Professional
Billiard Association.
Bonnie was not aware of this promotion when
she decided to join the APA, and the prize package was a pleasant surprise. “I had watched my
husband play pool a few times at Gun Tavern and Larry, a good friend for
a few years, had talked to me about joining the League. It sounded like
fun so I went ahead and joined,” said Bonnie.
Bonnie, a Skill Level 2, has played pool before,
although not on an APA League. “So far, the League has been an enormous amount of fun for
me,” commented Bonnie, “It’s a real stress relief sometimes!”
Bonnie has been married to her husband Ralph for two and a half years;
together they have four children and five grandchildren.
