Faces
of the APA:
A Marriage Made in . . .
a Pool Hall?!?!
There are hundreds of places to meet someone in a city—hundreds of opportunities that happen everyday that some people may overlook. For Sandra and Errol DeSoto of Gretna, La., it all started the Thursday after Father’s Day, June 2003.
“I got on an APA Pool League team because I was dating the Team Captain, Kris,” said Sandra DeSoto. “Little did I know what was about to happen!” While on the team Sandra met Errol, and they immediately became friends. “He was single, so I tried to set him up with one of my friends. To my surprise, I later found out that he was interested in me!”
Sandra and her boyfriend, Kris, stopped dating, but remained friends. “One day I received a call from Errol, which totally caught me off guard; he wanted to go out. We had a wonderful date and, needless to say, we’ve been together ever since!” said Sandra.
Errol and Sandra were married August 28, 2004. “Kris was the Best Man in our wedding,” said Sandra, “and I have since played matchmaker and set him up with another APA player, and they have recently become engaged. I would never have imagined playing pool as a way to meet that special someone, but it happens!”
