9-Ball Doubles Finals

The Open 9-Ball Doubles Championships concluded with Chicks with Sticks from Enfield, Conn., Susan Balon and Dana Platt playing Aaron & Troy from Baton Rouge, La., Aaron Hogg Spelyng and Troy Dunn. The race was 14 (Chicks) to 30 (Aaron & Troy).

Dana started the match with the break, but Aaron & Troy quickly took over the first rack acquiring 7 of the 9 possible points. They quickly racked up their points over the next four games. Chicks with Sticks hung in there, however, but Aaron & Troy just sunk the balls faster then the Chicks. After only 30 minutes and 6 racks Aaron & Troy reached their points goal over Chicks with Sticks. The final score was 38 to 11.

“I’m really proud of us,” said Troy Dunn, “we’ve been playing together for three years, and it was really important for us to not get down on each other, we made some mistakes, but we are amateurs and we moved on.”
