APA Open 8-Ball Doubles Championship

Back Again 8-Ball Doubles Champions

Championships for the 8-Ball Doubles Preregistered event pitted Double Trouble from Chester, PA, Lorenzo Harris SL7 and Fabian Rykard SL3 against Paul Weber SL6 and Jared Boothe SL 4 of Back Again from McComb, MS.

The match was a race to four. Harris won the lag to start the game, after a see-saw start, Double Trouble won the first two matches. Back Again captured the third match, quickly, only giving Harris and Rykard one chance at the table. Team Back Again was on a roll and after five games, they were ahead by one. In the sixth game Double Trouble dominated, sinking all of their balls, not giving Back Again a chance. It was down to the last game, Back Again found the groove, Boothe made a beautiful two rail shot on the six ball to set up his partner on the 8. Final score was 4-3.

“I’ve been here for this event three years in a row, each time with a different partner,” said Paul Weber, “their skill levels have gone up so I’ve had to find new partners, but Jared was really great. I dedicate my win to my mom, she died one month and two days ago, here's to you mom, and my wife who's watched every shot of every match.” Weber and Boothe play out of Patio Lounge in McComb, MS.
