According to his teammates, Mark Davis of Mabelvale, Ark., is the glue that holds everything together. No matter if there’s rain, sleet or snow or if he’s sicker than a dog, Mark is always there for his team on League night! He plays in the South Central Arkansas APA operated by Russell & Cyndi Hannahs as a skill level 6 in both 8-Ball and 9-Ball.

“Ask anyone in Arkansas and they will tell you they would love to be on one of Mark’s teams because he’s the best Team Captain you could have,” teammate Erika King said. “I’m blessed and honored to be on both his 8 and 9-Ball teams.”

Win or lose, he always makes his teammates feel like a winner. He’s consistently helping to improve their game and build their confidence. “No” doesn’t belong in his vocabulary and he never has a bad word to say about anyone. Currently, Mark plays three nights a week in 8-Ball, 9-Ball and Masters divisions. He also helps out the League by running Singles Boards.

“You won’t find a single person that doesn’t like Mark,” Russell said. “He’s an excellent coach and a wonderful human being who would do just about anything to help someone.”

After seven years in the APA, Mark is hoping to qualify for one of the championship events in Vegas. He recently just missed a chance by making it to the finals of the 9-Ball Doubles Championship qualifier. Mark’s fingers are crossed that his team makes it to the World Pool Championships this year.

“He’s a super captain, and a real pleasure to have in our League and to call a friend,” Cyndi said. “He loves the APA and we love him!”
