The professional pool world has grown exponentially over the last few years. Matchroom, producers of the Mosconi Cup, the U.S. Open and several other high profile professional 9-Ball tournaments across the globe, has steadily been building their event portfolio. Predator, the well-known cue manufacturer preferred by some of the world’s top players, has launched a full-scale 10-Ball tour. Couple those major initiatives with other industry stalwarts like the Derby City Classic, produced by Diamond Billiards, and the International Open, produced by Accustat’s Pat Fleming, and you have more professional pool tournaments than the sport has ever seen!

Billiards Digest Live, featuring industry expert Mike Panozzo, and produced by APA, will give amateur players and fans alike a window into the latest happenings of the professional pool world with highlights, player interviews and expert analysis.

“The time was right for this.  With more professional events being produced, and professional video content available to highlight those events, it just seemed like a natural fit for us to try and give our poolplaying audience a look into the other side of the pool world.  Billiards Digest has been the industry leader in billiard coverage for decades with its magazine. Mike Panozzo (Billiards Digest Publisher) is without a doubt our sport’s top journalist.  His insight and passion for pool, combined with APA’s production capabilities and audience, gives us a chance to do something truly unique for our entire industry,”

said Jason Bowman, APA Director of Marketing.

“I’m excited to be working with the APA team.  Taking some of the magic of Billiards Digest and transforming it into a live studio production is something I hope will revolutionize the coverage of professional pool,”

said Panozzo.

The first episode of Billiards Digest Live premiered on Monday, Feb. 27 at 6pm CT on the APA Facebook page and YouTube Channel.  It featured a look at recent events including the Women’s 9-Ball World Championship, the Derby City Classic and the World 9-Ball Championship.

The premiere also included special guest appearances as well as an exclusive interview with Efren Reyes, considered by many to be the greatest poolplayer of all time.
