5th Street Players of Dupo, Ill., defeated The Contenders II of West Covina, Calif., in the finals of the 2017 APA 9-Ball World Championship. The victory earned 5th Street Players $15,000 in 1st Place prize money, while The Contenders II took home $7,000 as Runners-Up.
5th Street Players ousted 9-Ball Bombers of Sudbury, Ont., in the semifinals while The Contenders II defeated Here We Go Again of Grayslake, Ill. 9-Ball Bombers and The Contenders II each received $3,500 in prize money for making to the final day of competition.
9’s a Crowd of Topeka, Kan., were presented the Sportsmanship Award in the 9-Ball division.
A record 492 teams competed in this year’s 9-Ball World Championship.
