The finals of the 8-Ball Doubles Championship on Thursday, May 5 paired The Kings of Pool – Raymond Ortiz (SL7) and Reynaldo Salgado (SL3) – of Bridgeport, Conn., against Boom Shaka Laka – Chris Mitchell (SL7) and Kevin Adams (SL4) – of Parma, Ohio. The race was 3-4.
After an exciting match that went hill-hill, it was Boom Shaka Laka sinking the final 8-ball for the title.
Boom Shaka Laka took home $5,000 for their win, while The Kings of Pool earned $3,000 as Runners-Up.
Blake Billiards – Bobby Blake and Kathryn Waugh – of Gautier, Miss., were the Sportsmanship Award winners.
