James Blackburn of Reidsville, N.C., is the 2024 U.S. Amateur Champion. Blackburn defeated Brandon Ashcraft of Adrian, Mich., in a hill-hill nail-biter final, 11-10. Ashcraft finished as Runner-Up.
Ashcraft punched his card to the final after defeating Lance Ireland of Jacksonville, Fla., in the hot seat match. Ireland then went on to meet Blackburn in the semifinal, where Blackburn ultimately advanced to the final. Ireland finished in 3rd Place.
Sam Gilmer of Starkville, Miss., finished in 4th Place. Chris Bruner of Midlothian, Va., and Ernesto Bayaua of Woodlands, Texas, tied for 5th Place.
The U.S. Amateur Championship was held Nov. 14-16 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Fla. A total of 128 players competed in this year’s event.
