Loud and Obnoxious of Mississauga, Ontario, has traditionally finished in the middle of their division; they rarely qualified for playoffs and higher level tournaments. In the Spring Session of this year, they finished in the bottom half of the standings. They got lucky, received the wild card draw and were paired against the 1st Place team in the first round of the playoffs. They won the match 3-1 and received a spot in the Tri-Annual. At the Tri-Annual they won their first match, then lost the second. They won the third and lost the fourth to get knocked out, however, the team that beat them already had a Regional spot, thus giving them the spot. At Regionals, they played great and won the trip to Vegas!
Team members include: Adriaan Pruyssers (Captain), Tara Ann Feltham (Co-Captain), Derek Batchelor, Brian Freeborn, Saqib Alvi, Simon Grant and Randy Freese. Derek has been a CPA member for about 17 years, while Adriaan joined 7 years ago. Everyone else joined after that, with the newest member being Simon, who has been with the team for about a year. No members of the team have been to Vegas, so they were excited to make the trip together. They competed in the Open 8-Ball Division.
“Our team is in the League solely to have a good time,” Derek said. “While winning is awesome, each and every one of us are there to hang out together and enjoy an evening out at the pool hall.”
