The 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship will return to Orlando, Fla., with this year’s event moving to the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
The tournament will take place Wed., Nov. 13 – Sat., Nov. 16.
Located just minutes from major theme parks like Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld Orlando, the family-friendly resort has it all.
When participants aren’t competing in the tournament, they can enjoy a swimming grotto with waterfalls, zero-entry pool and waterslide. Dining options include five onsite restaurants and a 24-hour grab-and-go market. The hotel offers a state-of-the-art fitness center and a full-service hotel spa as well. Located on International Drive, the hotel is within a two-mile radius of more than 100 shopping, dining and entertainment options.
Competition will take place in the hotel’s conference space, allowing participants to compete and stay all at the same property.
“We’re excited to be able to keep this event in Orlando as planned. We think the players will be really excited about the new venue and everything it has to offer; it’s definitely a step up from the last venue” said APA Director of Marketing Jason Bowman.
The U.S. Amateur Championship was previously slated to take place at an alternate property in Orlando, but the location unexpectedly announced they were closing the facility in June, necessitating the move to the Hyatt Regency just a short distance down the road.
This year’s U.S. Amateur Championship will be played on 9-ft Diamond tables.
Qualifying for this year’s event will take place in September.
The U.S. Amateur Championship is open to both APA members and non-members.
