Defending champion Dana Aft has been eliminated from this year’s U.S. Amateur Championship.
Aft followed up an early morning loss to Tammie Jones with a strong win over Dee Dee Copeland. Her title defense would end however in the quarterfinal round at the hands of Stacie Bourbeau 5-3.
Aft’s championship encore was good for a solid 4th Place finish. Bourbeau advances to face the loser of the match between Asia Cycak and Tammie Jones. The winner of that match will advance to the finals.
