Central Colorado APA held their 8th annual holiday doubles tournament on Nov. 27, 2022 at RAC’M in Colorado Springs, Colo. A total of 92 players participated in the event, with many others attending to support the charities.
Players had the option of paying a $20 per person entry fee to participate in the tournament or to bring a new toy. All toys were donated to Christmas Unlimited (Toys for Tots) and all cash donations went to Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA). CASA of the Pikes Peak Region is a nonprofit organization that trains and supervises volunteers to represent the best interests of victims of child abuse, neglect, and severe domestic conflict.
After all was said and done, $1,480 was raised for CASA. In addition, Central Colorado APA matched up to $1,000, bringing the total to $2,480 for CASA! Lots of toys were also donated to Christmas Unlimited.
“We selected these organizations because they help support local children,” Jovanka Mersman, Central Colorado APA League Operator said. “We’re so grateful to our Central Colorado APA family for making this another successful event that helps others in need.”
