The MS Gulf Coast APA held its second charity pool tournament for Wounded Warriors of Mississippi at Good Times in Gulfport on Sunday, April 3, 2016. In addition to the pool tournament, the Host Location, owned by James Brown, sold BBQ, fish and fried chicken plates. All the food was donated by various businesses and individuals. Good Times staff, friends and family members helped with organizing and preparing the food in addition to conducting a silent auction, live auction and several raffles, which brought in a great deal of funds. The pool tournament was sponsored by Rick Scruggs with Ace Mechanics of Biloxi. There were 34 players in the tournament with about 50 supporters and workers in attendance. Awards including an APA Yellow Ribbon patch went to 1st through 4th Place winners in the tournament. The winner was Tom Snowburger, 2nd Place went to Dave Aboudaoud, 3rd Place was Dean Herms and 4th Place was Cecil Doss. “What better way to have fun, meet people and play pool!” said Susan Church, MS Gulf Coast APA League Operator. “The MS Gulf Coast APA has found its niche in the pool community through giving first. With this event, we’ve raised awareness about our neighbor, Warriors and Veterans. The MS Gulf Coast APA was honored to be a part of this event. Through all the hard work we raised $2,713 for Wounded Warriors of Mississippi. Thank you everyone for your donations, time and support to show you care!”
