The Mississippi Gulf Coast APA hosted a charity pool tournament on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the American Legion Post 73 in Picayune, Miss., to benefit MDA (the Muscular Dystrophy Association). MDA is leading the fight to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life. We use our collective strength to help kids and adults live longer and grow stronger by finding research breakthroughs across diseases, caring for individuals from day one and empowering families with services and support in hometowns across America.
“Several friends and family members suffer with Muscular Dystrophy. We are so proud to support the Association.” said Susan Church, MS Gulf Coast APA League Operator. “Support through events like this makes the effort fun for us all. Making a lifelong difference in someone’s life is what we should all strive to do.”
Taking 1st Place in the tournament was APA member Zack Sanderson, while APA member Andy Wright placed 2nd.
Through raffles, tournament registration fees and a cash donation from the American Legion Post 73, they donated $200 to the charity!
