Brian Parks of Bakersfield, Calif., is the 2016 U.S. Amateur Champion. The victory represents Parks fourth U.S. Amateur Championship, he is the only player to ever accomplish that feat. Parks defeated Daniel Gambill of Hickory, N.C., in the final round of this year’s championship. Gambill had gone undefeated throughout the tournament until meeting Parks in the final round. After splitting the 8-Ball set 4-4, Parks dominated in the 9-Ball set winning 7 racks in a row in route to an 11-4 victory.
Parks advances to the 2017 U.S. Open, while Gambill finishes as Runner-Up, his top finish in 10 U.S. Amateur Championship appearances. James Adams of Spring Hill, Fla., finished in 3rd Place.
