APA Member Gloria Stewart from Putnam, Conn., has been baking cookies for teams for over 20 years! She not only bakes cookies for her own team, but for the opposing team as well. Gloria has been bringing cookies to League night faithfully and has gotten to know the team’s favorite cookies. Each week, she checks the schedule to find out what team they’re playing and decides on what flavor cookie to bring.
Players in the Connecticut APA say that once you meet her, she becomes your friend instantly! This act of kindness shows that a little goes a long way.
“Gloria is a pleasure to have in our League,” said Connecticut APA League Operator Bruce Barthelette. “It goes to show you that there is a reason why our motto is: Have Fun, Meet People, Play Pool!”
Gloria joined the APA in 1997. She currently plays 9-Ball on Monday nights with her team All Madden. Their Host Location is Charlee Bravos in Putnam. She’s also played 8-Ball through the years and is currently a skill level 3 in both 8-Ball and 9-Ball. In 2004, Gloria went to the National Team Championships for both the 8-Ball and 9-Ball Divisions.
“I want to thank Gloria for her dedication to the Connecticut APA! It is so great to see that her ACT OF KINDNESS goes a long way amongst all the poolplayers she has played over the years,” said Barthelette.
