The St. Louis APA hosted the 4th Annual Kathleen Kirner Memorial Tournament on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at The Cue in St. Louis, Mo. Kathy Kirner is an APA member who lost her battle with cancer just over three years ago.
The format was Jack & Jill 8-Ball Scotch Doubles, with a Skill Level Limit of 10 and a race-to-2. A total of 32 teams played in the pajama-themed tournament. First Place was awarded to Mark and Judy Obermeier and coming in 2nd Place was Les Simmons and Soumitra Saha. Tying for 3rd Place was Robbi Rohr and Bryan Beelek and Adam and Jill Davis. The top 3 finishers received cash prizes and the winners will have their name added to the house trophy.
Silent auction items were donated by Major Brands, Vaporized LLC, Schlafly Beer, American Poolplayers Association and Stephanie Stark Anderson with Thirty-One. Attendees brought food to share and a donation bucket collected additional contributions.
At the end of the evening, $1,918 was raised for the American Cancer Society in memory of Kathy Kirner.
