Brett Stottlemyer of Pasadena, Md., is the 2023 U.S. Amateur Champion. Stottlemyer defeated Josh Watson of Las Vegas in the final. Watson finished as Runner-Up.
Watson earned his spot in the final after defeating defending Champion Jacob Watson in the hot seat match. The loss sent Jacob to the 1-loss bracket where he would meet Stottlemyer for a seat in the final. After an exciting hill-hill match, it was Stottlemyer successfully punching his card to the final. Jacob Watson finished in 3rd Place.
James Adams of Brooksville, Fla., finished in 4th Place. Corey Sykes of Raleigh, N.C., and Derek Schwager of Boyertown, Penn., tied for 5th Place.
The U.S. Amateur Championship was held Nov. 3-5 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive. A total of 128 players competed in this year’s event.
