There was lots of excitement in 2018! Let’s recap some of our favorite moments of the year. 

  1. Team USA Wins the Mosconi Cup – for the first time in nearly a decade, Team USA took home the Mosconi Cup!! Relive all the action on our Facebook page where you can watch all the matches. Click here to watch now!

2.  Debut of the NEW Team Captain’s Championship – we debuted a brand new, unique event at the World Pool Championships! Want more info on this event? Visit https://poolplayers.com/showdown-series/team-captains-championship/.

3.  First Team from Japan Wins the 9-Ball World Championship – it truly is a World Championship! Our very first Japanese Champions were crowned at the World Pool Championships! Read More: https://poolplayers.com/2018-9-ball-world-championship-results/.

4.  Firefighters Save Fellow Poolplayers Life – APA is about more than just pool. We followed an inspiring story of two firefighters who saved a fellow player’s life during their Tri-Cups in New Orleans. 

5.  Corey Deuel Instruction Series – learn from Mosconi Cup Champion Corey Deuel in our instruction series! View the videos on our YouTube Channel. And, stay tuned for more videos being added throughout the year! 

6.  Streaming ALL Finals Matches at the Poolplayer Championships – that’s right, for the first time ever, we live streamed all 11 finals matches at the Poolplayer Championships! That included all Skill Level Tiers of both the 8-Ball Classic and 9-Ball Shootout, as well as the Showdown Series events. Relive the action on our YouTube Channel!

7.  You Make the Call Video Series – we debuted a brand new video series in late 2018 that features rules scenarios. Watch the series on our YouTube Channel! And, be sure to follow us for more videos being added throughout the year. 

8.  Junior Championships Move to St. Louis – the biggest Junior Championships to-date were held at the Renaissance Airport Hotel in St. Louis, Mo., in July! Check out the results here. Watch the finals matches on our YouTube Channel!

9.  Two New U.S. Amateur Champions – we crowned two new U.S. Amateur Champions in November, as well as providing even more live coverage than ever! Watch the matches on our YouTube Channel. 

10.  Introduction of the NEW Gray Tier to the 9-Ball Shootout for 2019 – that’s right, you’ve been asking for it and we’ve delivered! This year’s 9-Ball Shootout will now feature a new Gray Tier for skill levels 6-7. View more info here!
