When Memphis, Tenn., Host Locations were forced to reduce to 25% occupancy, Memphis APA League Operators, Bobby & Nika Harvison, decided to jump in and help. After announcing the idea, they immediately received a $600 donation. So, the Harvison’s matched the donation and purchased 150 meals from their Host Locations to deliver to local missions and churches.

They vowed to continue with this every Saturday the locations remained at a reduced capacity. They rolled out a campaign on social media, Memphis APA Pays it Forward, and solicited donations. The second week they sent out 135 meals to other missions and local transition centers. The week after, 80 meals were sent to a Memphis homeless shelter. Bobby and Nika continued to help out on their end as well.

“Our players really stepped up to help support our bars,” Nika said. “We figured it’s a win-win situation because not only are we helping our Host Locations, we’re helping people in need as well. We just wanted our Host Location owners to know that we support them and need them once they get to open back up.”
