John Remigio of Laurel, Md., began playing in the APA in September 1984 when it was the Busch Pool League. In the last 30 years, he’s not missed a session!

“I stopped in a local bar one night, saw a pool table and a banner with Busch on it; I asked the bartender about what the Busch Pool League was, and after that I decided to join,” John said.

John has been a Team Captain during the majority of his time in the League. He’s also a Division Rep in the Greater Washington DC APA operated by Lee and Jane Tiani. His best APA memory thus far was going to Vegas in 2004 for the 8-Ball Open Division of the National Team Championships. He also enjoyed serving as a national referee in Vegas a few years ago.

In January 2014, John played his 3,000th APA match! He’s currently a skill level 5 in both 8-Ball and 9-Ball. Through the years he’s enjoyed seeing the League grow and evolve.

“Being a single man, and having lost my youngest son three years ago, I see the APA as a regular way to spend time with a lot of friends, and still compete in a sport that I have enjoyed over the years,” John said. “I don’t see me slowing down my participation in the APA for a long time to come.”
